Join the West Virginia University Health System as a Hospital Coding Specialist III. In this fully remote, full-time role, you’ll focus on highly complex inpatient and interventional radiology coding. You’ll ensure accurate DRG assignments and compliant billing practices, working closely with physicians, clinical teams, and internal departments to support timely reimbursements.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Code inpatient and interventional radiology (IRAD) records 90% of the time
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and modifier codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Ensure compliant MS-DRG assignment and charge capture
• Manage coding of high-complexity patient classes
• Coordinate with physicians and departments to obtain complete documentation
• Identify discrepancies and support clean claim processing
• Maintain coding knowledge through ongoing training and coding updates
• Meet daily productivity standards for timely and accurate coding
• Participate in audits, in-services, and quality review initiatives
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, COC-A, COC (formerly CPC-H), or CIC
• Minimum 3 years of hospital inpatient or interventional radiology coding experience
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, MS-DRGs, anatomy, and medical terminology
• Ability to concentrate, prioritize tasks, and adapt under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
