🧾 About the Role
Routeware is seeking a Collections Specialist to join our growing team and help us ensure timely customer payments. In this role, you’ll handle customer outreach, resolve billing disputes, and support internal teams in identifying the root causes of delayed payments. You’ll be part of a mission-driven company focused on improving waste and recycling operations through innovation and sustainability.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and mail to resolve delayed payments
• Reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) by tracking and addressing unpaid invoices
• Document payment delays and recommend resolution strategies in financial systems
• Draft and send A/R statements, collections letters, and other communications
• Analyze and explain billing details, credit memos, returns, and payment statuses
• Investigate and resolve disputes through contract and account reviews
• Support internal teams by clearly communicating payment issues and patterns
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English fluency required)
• Ability to explain invoicing details and credit memos to internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables)
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Tesorio, and Sage Intacct preferred
• Experience using Stripe, Authorize.net, High Radius, or other payment portals is a plus
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across time zones and teams
• Collaborative spirit with a drive to solve problems and improve financial processes
