🧾 About the Role
Workit Health is changing how addiction is treated in America—with a virtual-first, harm reduction approach. As a Medical Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical support team, managing communication between members, providers, and pharmacies. You’ll work remotely, helping streamline care delivery for those in recovery through responsive service and compassion-driven support.

Compensation: $25.00/hr
Schedule: 8:00 AM–6:30 PM EST (with Wednesdays off)

Position Highlights

• Full-time, remote role with a four-day workweek
• Serve as a critical link between members and providers

📋 What You’ll Own
• Support members via chat, phone, and email with empathy and clarity
• Relay medical concerns and updates to providers in real time
• Coordinate with pharmacies to resolve prescription issues and complete prior authorizations
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 when handling sensitive information
• Learn and operate across multiple systems (EHR, internal platforms, communications tools)
• Uphold professionalism and compassion in every member interaction
• Balance multiple cases while maintaining response time, accuracy, and care quality


🎯 Must-Have Traits
• 1+ year of healthcare experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with medical terminology and EHRs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Experience in substance use or behavioral health care is a plus
• Passionate about harm reduction, recovery care, and serving diverse communities
• Willingness to ask questions and seek help when needed


💻 Remote Requirements
• Must reside in the U.S.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, private workspace
• Available during the full shift in Eastern Time
