Overview
BroadPath is seeking an Unlicensed Pharmacy Technician to join BP’s dynamic, connected culture! Our motivated, Unlicensed Pharmacy Technician will assist our members with calls regarding non-formulary, prior authorizations, and up-tier medication requests.
Responsibilities
- Process prior authorizations for prescriptions received from providers.
- Handle inbound member calls related to non-formulary, prior authorizations, and up tier medication requests.
- Research compound prescriptions to ensure accurate processing.
- Conduct possible outbound calls to providers for additional information.
- Provide prior authorization recommendations to reviewing Pharmacists based on established guidelines.
- Set up and process all specialty medication reviews, regardless of the benefit utilized.
- Maintain a working knowledge of pharmacy and medical claims processing systems.
- Become a subject matter expert in prior authorization, non-formulary, and up tier medication requests, with a focus on Specialty Prior Authorization, pre-certification, and some retrospective reviews.
- Utilize computer systems to input prescription and patient information accurately.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance pharmacy knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Customer service-oriented with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Windows, keyboarding skills, strong systems aptitude).
Candidate will be responsible for providing:
- Responsible for providing your own 19″ monitor or larger with VGA or HDMI port with corresponding cable, USB wired mouse, ethernet cable, and optional USB wired keyboard
- Reliable hardwired internet is a must with at least 25mbps download|10mbps upload speeds

- Previous experience in a pharmacy technician position.
