What You’ll Do
- Own and maintain documentation for Wowza Streaming Engine, including:
- Installation and deployment guides
- Configuration and administration documentation
- Feature and release documentation
- Troubleshooting and operational guidance
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and QA to understand new features, changes, and constraints
- Translate complex streaming, encoding, and server-side concepts into clear, usable documentation for technical audiences
- Document REST APIs, configuration options, and workflows used by developers and system administrators
- Review engineering artifacts (code changes, design docs, pull requests) to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
- Maintain and update content in the knowledge base
- Use Git and command-line workflows to manage doc updates and participate in release cycles
- Help improve documentation standards, structure, and best practices across the product
- Partner with support and field teams to address documentation gaps and recurring customer issues
What You Need
- 3+ years of technical writing experience for software, developer tools, or infrastructure products
- Proven experience collaborating directly with engineering and product teams
- Strong ability to understand and document complex technical systems
- Experience documenting APIs and developer-facing features
- Working knowledge of Git, including basic command-line workflows
- Excellent writing skills with a focus on clarity, precision, and usability
