Sr. Marketing Manager – Merchandising Display & Graphic Solutions

As the Senior Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing plans to drive growth across the MD and GS Business This critical role will report to the Director Marketing – Merchandising Displays & Graphic Solutions and will collaborate across the organization to support positioning, go-to-market strategies, and marketing plans needed to acquire, grow, and retain customers across MD & GS.
In this role, you will develop a deep knowledge of the Merchandising Displays & Graphic Packaging industry including retail and the full product portfolio. The candidate will serve as an internal and external subject matter expert working in partnership with our commercial sales team to bring our Merchandising Display and Graphic Solutions to new and existing customers.. Your insights of key industry challenges. You will support & activate marketing campaigns across the business and across key segments.
What you can expect in this role:
• Manage and maintain close liaison with MD& GS sales teams as their single point-of-contact to marketing group.
• Contribute to the development of segment strategy development & GTM
• Monitor and stay current with clients, analysts, retailers, trade associations, publications, and other influencers to stay abreast of trends and buyer needs.
• Maintain research to assess Smurfit Westrock gaps and differentiation
• Partner with the Enterprise Marketing and Corporate Communications teams to activate campaigns to specific customers to generate demand for Smurfit Westrock – MD/GS products; monitor campaign results and report back to sales teams.
• Act as the industry subject matter expert for MD & GS providing direction on messaging and content to be created for demand generation, events, and sales enablement.
• Manage with Comms Social media to regularly share MD/GS thought leadership, award winning design through various platforms.
• Partner with design on customer engagements – Insights, trends, marketing POV to creative stand out & compelling customer engagements.
• Support key customer accounts by assisting with the development of quarterly business reviews, innovation days, thought leadership presentations, support RFP’s, design challenges, etc.
• Craft and deliver Insights/Trends presentations for internal and external audiences; Act as a spokesperson at industry events, customer-facing meetings, webinars, videos, and other forms of visual content.
• Customer Advocacy – Work with commercial and customers to gain trust and permission to share their stories, quotes and experiences
• Work with Design & Innovation – On pipeline growth, commercialization, sales support on innovation projects and initiatives
What you’ll need to succeed:
The Corrugated Marketing team values self-motivated & positive team players. You should be highly capable in each of the following dimensions: adaptability, agility (flexibility), curiosity, resourcefulness, analytical thinking/problem-solving, proactivity, collaboration, technological savvy, and ease of operating with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally a fast-paced environment
• Experience partnering closely with sales teams to support sales/account/customer growth.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills; experienced in customer-facing roles and are comfortable presenting at the front of the room or on stage.
• Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, deliver and partner at all levels of the Smurfit Westrock organization.
• Willingness to participate in and travel to industry events, association conferences, trade shows, customer presentations, and sales meetings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Teams and OneNote, and experience working in CRM and project management systems such as Monday.com
Working conditions/Physical requirements:
• Normal office environment with the ability to work remotely or hybrid between remote and office.
• Travel 15-25%.
