Weston Distance Learning is currently seeking a Social Work Instructor to help train students in the areas of Social Work, Psychology and Sociology. This is a part-time work-from-home position with the instructor working from a home office using our online learning platform.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and manage the Social Work course assignments, including grading and using innovative ways to provide content coaching.
- Focus on coaching, motivating, and teaching Social Work program students through tutoring appointments, email and written comments on graded papers.
- Model effective oral and written communication that engages the Social Work students, providing clarity, and improving student learning.
- Demonstrate consistency and fairness in grading and provide timely feedback to students.
- Work with the Curriculum Department in conducting Academic Reviews to ensure content is relevant and current.
Requirements for successful candidates include:
- Possesses a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a closely related field.
- Has at least 5 years full-time work experience over the past 10 years in the area to be taught.
- Holds a degree earned from an institution accredited by an agency that is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or, for non-U.S. institutions, an accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities (18th ed.).
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Displays strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Starting pay is expected to be $25/hour but may vary based on experience.
