Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.

Purpose: 

The Senior Specialist, Affiliate Health Care Workforce analyzes and tracks project portfolios within Stronger’s Staffing Initiative, and plays a vital role in supporting the execution of these portfolios. This role actively contributes to supporting affiliates by exploring solutions for addressing clinician shortages, implementing Health Center Management training, and ensuring the efficient coordination of project logistics.

Delivery:

●Organize and coordinate project activities, including scheduling meetings, tracking progress, and ensuring project timelines are met.

●Draft and prepare project materials, reports, and communications tailored for diverse internal and external stakeholders, encompassing a wide range of audiences, such as project coordinators, analysts, and C-Suite executives. This includes one-pagers, presentations, and handouts on active projects.

●Identify and research best practices, resources, and tools to address clinician shortages. Synthesize findings and provide recommendations to the team. 

●Monitor the implementation of pre- and post-assessment surveys to gauge project effectiveness.

●Complete and maintain project documentation, including meeting notes and action items, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for future reference.

Engagement: 

●Present project updates and findings to the Stronger Change Office, PPFA National Office, and affiliates to support timely project development and monitoring.

●Make the team aware of operational issues in project execution/service delivery.

●Communicate effectively with affiliates, making them aware of available resources and support.

●Engage with affiliates to gather feedback and input to inform project improvements.

●Explain project goals, strategies, and outcomes to stakeholders, fostering alignment and support.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): 

●3 years of experience directly related to project coordination and/or administrative support

●Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a dynamic, fast-moving team, completing multiple tasks with poise, accuracy, and confidence.

●Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including experience with data analysis.

●Proven efficiency in conducting surveys and interpreting survey data.

●Strong oral and written communication skills.

●Autonomous worker with a self-starter mentality.

●High proficiency in Google products and knowledge of Project Management tools (e.g. Asana).

●Flexibility and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and ambiguous situations. 

●Knowledge of the current health care landscape is preferred.
