Schedule
- Full-time, remote (work from anywhere in the U.S., with preference for Ohio applicants)
- Day-to-day responsibilities involve failed claim resolution, billing corrections, and staff support
Responsibilities
- Review and update failed bills and claims daily across billing systems and vendor platforms
- Resolve claim submission issues, including electronic errors (277s) and late charges/rebills
- Monitor claims for accuracy and recommend system fixes to prevent recurring issues
- Prepare and submit hardcopy claims with supporting documentation for payment
- Contact patients, insurance carriers, and third parties to collect additional billing data
- Attach EOBs and medical records as needed for claims processing
- Support staff absentee coverage at billing desks
- Create training documents, conduct staff training, and evaluate testing for billing accuracy
- Provide recommendations on process improvements to increase claim success rates
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required (2 years of college preferred)
- 1–3 years of billing or claims processing experience required
- CPB Certification required (internal candidates must meet productivity/quality benchmarks)
- Demonstrated billing experience across multiple payers (or subject matter expertise on one payer)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM (error-adjusted)
- Strong communication skills and ability to train peers effectively
- Ability to work independently while meeting strict quality and productivity standards
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $18.15 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
