This office provides technical expertise while administering benefits, professional development, payroll, individual tax management, and strategic HR programs. The functional areas of Employee Services include Payroll, Technologies, Benefits, Retirement, Financial Education, Learning and Development, International Tax and Human Resources.
Position Summary:The Senior Payroll Processor provides service, support, and counseling to the university faculty, staff, students, retirees, and their dependents by providing payroll programs, policies, and procedures. This position provides ongoing payroll support and services including conducting seminars and educational sessions for campus constituents. This position also serves as a functional advisor to users of the PeopleSoft HCM system and its impact on payroll processing. The Senior Payroll Processor is required to analyze and apply federal and state rules and regulations and professional payroll best-practice guidelines.
The Senior Payroll Processor is responsible for running all payrolls (monthly, biweekly, weekly off-cycle); monitoring contributions, benefits, deductions, and taxes. In addition, this position runs various audit queries, identifying and resolving discrepancies as well as assisting with testing and recommendations of updates/enhancements to HCM and payroll processing. The Senior Payroll Processor works closely with HCM/Payroll Support Professionals and Payroll Coordinators to assess incoming issues and concerns. Testing scenarios and other methods are used to determine the best solutions which are tracked in the Cherwell ticketing system.

This position reports to the Payroll Manager and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.
