Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve escalated billing cases involving errors, eligibility disputes, and overpayments
- Perform root-cause analysis of multi-system issues, coordinating corrective actions with internal and external partners
- Act as the key liaison between Operations, Product, Engineering, Finance, Employers, and Payers
- Reconcile claims data, denial reports, and finance outputs to ensure accurate balances
- Track and document escalations meticulously across multiple systems
- Identify trends in billing issues and propose systematic improvements
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with members and stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience preferred
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing, health benefits, or escalation management
- Strong knowledge of claims lifecycle, accumulations logic, AR workflows, and insurance adjudication
- Familiarity with billing systems (EHRs, clearinghouses), tracking tools (Zendesk, Jira), and data platforms (Google Sheets, Looker)
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent critical-thinking and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with empathy-driven, member-centric focus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $100,000–$120,000/year (NYC, CO, CA candidates)
