What You’ll Do
- Process medical record release requests accurately and efficiently
- Retrieve, scan, validate, and transmit patient charts per policy
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy at all times
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing
- Provide outstanding customer service when responding to requests or inquiries
- Maintain equipment, files, and workspace in clean, orderly condition
- Stay updated on state laws and fee structures related to records release
- Support additional facilities and assist with backlogs as needed
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical records department or similar role preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn new systems quickly
- Must be able to type 50 WPM and use fax, copier, and scanning machines
- Proven customer service skills and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information
