About Medical Guardian
MedScope, a division of Medical Guardian, is a trusted name in the medical alarm industry, providing innovative solutions that support patients and healthcare providers. We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist with strong health insurance claims knowledge to manage Medicaid payer accounts and drive timely, accurate reimbursement.
Schedule
- Full-time, remote position (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST)
- Permanent residency required in: PA, DE, GA, MI, NC, TX, NJ, or FL
- Hourly rate: $22/hour
Responsibilities
- Manage a designated book of Medicaid payer accounts as the primary point of contact
- Meet or exceed monthly KPIs for collections, resolution rates, and productivity
- Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely resolution and reimbursement
- Review, analyze, and appeal denied or underpaid claims per payer policies
- Identify trends in denials/underpayments and escalate as needed
- Communicate with insurance companies via phone, portals, or correspondence
- Document all claim activity for auditing and tracking
- Monitor filing limits and authorization requirements to ensure compliance
- Submit corrected claims or reconsiderations when necessary
- Stay informed on payer-specific guidelines and rules
- Limited phone work, primarily with care managers (minimal patient interaction)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 2+ years in medical billing or revenue cycle management, with a focus on insurance follow-up or A/R
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Organized, accurate, and able to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience with Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations a plus
- Familiarity with Salesforce or Waystar preferred
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a small team
