POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is a part of a National Institute of Health (NIH) R01 funded randomized control trial and will be responsible for conducting online group sessions for people living with HIV. Each group will consist of 8-10 participants, whom will remain together through the duration of the program. Group classes held on specific days and times. A group facilitation manual will be provided to ensure uniformity of program delivery amongst the different group classes. Remote work location.  

DUTIES:

  • Plan and facilitate multiple online group classes using a group facilitation manual.
  • Create a warm, safe environment for participants to engage on various health topics as it pertains to HIV, sexual risk behavior or smoking cessation, and/or other related topics.
  • Participate in supervision sessions regarding group facilitation.
  • Keep participants involved through the course of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and two years of professional experience; or Master’s degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:

4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree.

6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. 
  • Experience working on HIV-related topics
  • Experience educating others on all aspects of HIV

Special Skills/Trainings/Other:

  • Flexible availability. 
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Good time management.  
  • Comfortable using computers, smartphone, tablet devices, and video chat technology. 
  • Comfortable talking about HIV 
  • Comfortable talking about own experiences. 
  • Smoked cigarettes previously and have successfully quit.

The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license.
