Job SummaryThe Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) is seeking a Research Administrator Senior.The successful candidate has the option to work fully remote with a flexible work schedule within core business hours, and training would be provided via Zoom.OSPA is responsible for administering over $330 million in extramural grants and contracts awarded through the University of Kentucky Research Foundation. Services are available to all University faculty and staff and include: advice and assistance with budget preparation and other administrative requirements of proposals; proposal submission; review, negotiation and acceptance of awards; interpretation and information regarding sponsor policies and regulations; preparation of subcontract documents; administration of UK’s Conflict of Interest Policy. This includes acting as the University of Kentucky administrative liaison for sponsor agencies and university faculty and staff. Additional duties include:review of sponsor proposal guidelinesproposal review and identification and communication of issues with proposals and proposal budgetsproposal submission to sponsor agencyaward review and negotiation with sponsorsaward acceptance and signaturesponsored project account establishmentinterpretation and implementation of university policies and proceduresinterpretation of sponsor regulations and state lawproviding responsive and appropriate post-award administrative guidance to faculty, staff, and sponsor agenciesA successful candidate will have the ability to understand, interpret, and research complex and varied regulations; think critically and work collegially in order to successfully resolve questions and issues for faculty, staff, and colleagues; communicate timely and professionally to a diverse range of individuals; the ability to multitask and prioritize; a strong attention to detail; and a willingness to be a lifelong learner.The University of Kentucky uses equivalencies in determining if a potential applicant meets the minimum education and experience.
