The Role
The Senior Member Advocate (Retiree Benefits) supports retirees by providing accurate, empathetic, and timely assistance with benefits enrollment and related inquiries. You’ll be the trusted voice retirees and their families count on when navigating complex benefits decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Handle inbound calls regarding retiree benefit inquiries and enrollment
- Provide clear, detailed responses and document all interactions accurately
- Assist with retiree program enrollment, ensuring compliance and timeliness
- Own the process from initial contact through to resolution
- Troubleshoot and assist colleagues when needed (“roll up your sleeves” approach)
- Follow established procedures while delivering exceptional service
- Initial schedule: 9 AM – 6 PM CT
What You’ll Need
- Required: 3+ years’ experience with retirement plans and retiree benefits (5+ years preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of retiree benefit plan policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Understanding of COBRA, Medicare, and post-employment benefits options
- Tech-savvy, with ability to diagnose and adapt to new tools
- Strong customer service mindset and interpersonal skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Reliable, professional home workspace
- Internet speed: 50 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload
