Schedule

  • Full-time, fully remote position
  • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm EST
  • Pay range: $17–$18/hour

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for patients regarding insurance coverage, claims, authorizations, and billing
  • Provide accurate information on insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs
  • Assist patients with understanding EOBs and resolving denied claims
  • Address billing discrepancies promptly and professionally
  • Educate patients on prior authorizations, in-network vs. out-of-network services, and coverage rules
  • Investigate and resolve patient concerns, coordinating with internal teams as needed
  • Collaborate with billing and insurance verification teams to resolve coverage issues
  • Follow up with patients and insurance carriers to ensure timely resolution
  • Document all patient communications and resolutions in EHR or CRM systems
  • Maintain a patient-first approach with empathetic and professional service
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements
  • Meet performance metrics, including:
    • Service Level ≥ 89%
    • ASA < 30 seconds
    • Abandonment Rate < 2%

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or healthcare-related coursework preferred
  • 1–2 years of customer service experience required; medical office or insurance background strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance plans and claims processes
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting
