Schedule
- Full-time, fully remote
- Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm EST
- Pay: $58,000–$60,000+ annually
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit inpatient, ER, observation, ancillary, and outpatient claims (UB-04)
- Verify claim accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer-specific requirements
- Validate insurance coverage before billing
- Identify and resolve billing errors, rejections, and discrepancies
- Monitor claim status and follow up with payers
- Collaborate with coding, charge entry, HIM, and registration teams
- Adhere to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing policies
- Maintain documentation within workflow systems for compliance and audits
- Support appeals, denial resolution, and process improvement initiatives
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members
Requirements
- Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS Level II
- CPB, CPC, or CMRS certification preferred
- 3+ years hospital billing experience (acute care preferred)
- Strong knowledge of UB-04 and facility billing codes
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing
- Skilled in Epic, Meditech, Cerner, IDX, SSI, or Optum
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines and revenue integrity practices
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA and compliance requirements
