Schedule

  • Full-time, fully remote
  • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm EST
  • Pay: $58,000–$60,000+ annually

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit inpatient, ER, observation, ancillary, and outpatient claims (UB-04)
  • Verify claim accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer-specific requirements
  • Validate insurance coverage before billing
  • Identify and resolve billing errors, rejections, and discrepancies
  • Monitor claim status and follow up with payers
  • Collaborate with coding, charge entry, HIM, and registration teams
  • Adhere to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing policies
  • Maintain documentation within workflow systems for compliance and audits
  • Support appeals, denial resolution, and process improvement initiatives
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members

Requirements

  • Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS Level II
  • CPB, CPC, or CMRS certification preferred
  • 3+ years hospital billing experience (acute care preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of UB-04 and facility billing codes
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing
  • Skilled in Epic, Meditech, Cerner, IDX, SSI, or Optum
  • Knowledge of CMS guidelines and revenue integrity practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and compliance requirements
