Schedule
- Full-time, remote role
- Standard weekday schedule with flexibility to support operational needs
Responsibilities
- Review electronic medical records to ensure compliance with HIPAA, requests, and authorization limits
- Verify legal right to release records under HIPAA rules and regulations
- Meet established productivity, quality, and utilization goals
- Support additional operational queues as needed to maintain throughput
- Mentor and provide support to new or struggling colleagues
- Communicate questions, issues, or concerns to leads or managers
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Carry out responsibilities in line with HIPAA, federal/state regulations, and company procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical records setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and other Windows-based programs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to type at least 40 WPM
- Strong time management skills, able to work in fast-paced, production-driven environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must successfully complete an industry-related course and exam within 6 months of hire
- High level of reliability, productivity, and professionalism
