Summary

As a Billing Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role on the RCM Team driving our members’ billing experience from beginning to end. You’ll support members through our phone, Athena portal, and email channels. You’ll also work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure member billing issues are resolved.

In This Role You’ll…

  • Work directly with members who are reaching out to us to resolve a billing issue.
  • Communicate with other operations team members and the RCM Team to resolve member billing issues.
  • Upload receipts and superbills to the member’s portal account.
  • Collect and resolve past due balances, providing refunds when applicable.
  • Explain share of cost and billing issues to members.
  • Update and maintain members’ insurance information.
  • Escalate more complex billing issues to an RCM Specialist/ Team when necessary.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to support distressed members and escalate when needed.
  • Gather and share member sentiment with your department lead and offer recommendations for improvement.
  • All other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • This role is full-time, Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30 PST
  • No prior billing experience necessary – we’re willing to train the right person!
  • This role requires you to have a private workspace that allows you to adhere to HIPAA regulations while communicating with members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in adherence with HIPAA Privacy laws – must pass writing assessment
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
