Summary of Role:

The New Home Project Manager (PM) role is to serve as the main point of contact to SunPower stakeholders and external builder customer-based teams. They act as the subject matter expert for launching initial community designs, addressing plan check comments from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) all the way through design approval. The New Home PM will manage production by being a liaison between builder office-based departments and our internal production teams.

Day to day responsibilities for Project Managers include but are not limited to managing at the community level: collection of the necessary information, documents and design files from builder teams, coordinating with SunPower sales teams to ensure information is accurate and builder timelines are met, design & permit coordination, construction date accuracy, sub-contractor coordination, conducting builder training on SunPower solar program & products, and system size or equipment change coordination. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure account manager has provided builder architectural, electrical, and construction files; to request MP, SSP, MPPP files as needed. 
  • Verify and confirm community level details are accurate prior to construction start. 
  • Coordinate with SunPower design team to create community level designs and re-designs to address product change, plan check comments, etc. 
  • Coordinate with SunPower permit supervisors to define a specific permit process plan. 
  • Work with builder team to confirm community permitting, “approval”, is granted. Either to be managed by SunPower or builder permit teams
  • Work with downstream teams to “launch” new communities into production successfully. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience working in a CRM platform like salesforce to manage production
  • 3+ years in residential construction working with various trades; from trench to framing, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and finish work
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business economics, or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to adjust communication style for interactions with sub-contractors, home builders and various internal stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture, anticipate problems and how they will affect the project team, and proactively address these issues
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NABCEP certified or 1+ years working with photovoltaic systems
  • Design and or permit experience with photovoltaic or residential electrical systems

  • The position requires travel with the potential of overnight stays between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Less than or equal to 10% travel.
  • Day to day work is completed in the office at personal computer M-F, first shift hours
  • Ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines, telephones, but occasionally may be above average for portions of the business day

Please note the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for this position only and in the geographical location noted. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,800/year to $134,640/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
