Insurity’s Next Program Architect

Reporting to the CTO, you will partner with the Enterprise Architecture Team to lead initiatives across all products, teams, and technical solutions.  Provide support and guidance to our Application Technology Owners in working to build cloud architecture as a competency. Participate as part of the Architecture Review Board in overseeing new technical directions and initiatives across all product teams.  Provide vision, direction, and leadership in driving our Cloud architecture strategies for the future.  Develop prototypes as necessary.

What Our Program Architect Will Do

• Technology
  • Investigate, assess and conduct proofs of concept of new technologies to determine solutions that are best fit for our cost structure, skill structure, and our company
  • Evangelize new technologies across all stakeholders 
  • Lead in setting the development & architecture standards for cloud solutions      
• Domain-Specific Architecture
  • Define the appropriate guidelines, standards, best practices, templates, and reference implementations in the cloud architecture domain
  • Work with Enterprise Architects to guide the community of architects and developers
• Leadership
  • Serve as a thought leader in the cloud architecture field
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship and technical guidance to team members 
  • Prepare and present to all stakeholders, including customers 
• Agile Process Role
  • Participate in planning, exploration, definition, and high-level design of solutions
  • Work with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to establish high-level solution intent, and documentation requirements 
  • Establish critical NFRs
  • Analyze the impact of design decisions with an economic framework 
  • Work with portfolio stakeholders, Product, and Enterprise Architects to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enabler epics  
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Pre- and Post-PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and Inspect and Adapt(I&A) events 
  • Plan and develop the Architectural Runway in support of new business Features and Capabilities  
• Other
  • Represent the company as a technical expert with business partners (customers, prospects, partners) 
  • Stay up to date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical Acumen

• Expert level experience with cloud architectures including
  • Containers/Kubernetes
  • Azure services, including Service Fabric and Cloud Services
  • AWS services
  • PaaS, IaaS and SaaS services, their unique pros and cons, and optimizing use of each
  • Ability to lead platform reviews and consulting on move to cloud and transitions to new platforms
  • Provide architectural reviews and consulting on cloud networking
• Cloud cost modeling and analysis for both AWS and Azure
• Expert level in Application and Service-to-Service Security, including:
  • Authentication, Authorization, SSO, Auditing
  • Secure coding practices
  • Secure SDLC
  • Zero Trust security principles
• Logging, Tracing, and Telemetry Platforms
• DevOps / IAC

Miscellaneous

• 12 years as a senior technology leader, with 5 years as a software architect
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (equivalent work experience may be considered).
• Master’s degree a plus 
• Some travel within the US, Canada and India

We have five Core Values at Insurity; one of which is to Act with Integrity.  Providing pay transparency helps you make the best decision for you.  We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps.  Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $130,000 to $190,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
