Schedule
- Fully remote position
- Standard business hours, Monday–Friday
- Salary range: $22–$24/hour (based on skills, experience, and location)
Responsibilities
- Process payments, adjustments, and denials accurately and on time for patient accounts
- Manage ERA, EFT, and lockbox transactions in compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines
- Verify payment information, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues to ensure posting accuracy
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of reimbursement guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Keep accurate records of all payment posting activities and support reporting needs
- Generate reports related to payment posting, discrepancies, and reconciliation issues
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, billing, and collections teams to resolve issues
- Interpret and clarify EOBs and other payer documents when needed
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in payment posting with strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement and payer EOBs
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency in ERA and EFT processing
- Familiarity with lockbox operations and payment posting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to analyze and resolve payment posting discrepancies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare billing or revenue cycle software
- Knowledge of payer reimbursement, utilization practices, and related state/federal regulations
- Effective communication skills for remote teamwork
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must pass a background check, including a credit check, due to the financial nature of the role
