What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop a team of Payroll Specialists to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing
- Manage payroll systems, including salaries, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and taxes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and wage laws
- Provide training and education on payroll best practices and compliance updates
- Identify and resolve payroll system issues; recommend improvements and test updates
- Use data analytics to recommend and execute payroll process improvements
- Manage quarterly/annual payroll tax compliance, including W-2 preparation
- Oversee general ledger payroll accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
- Ensure accurate updates for new hires, terminations, and pay changes
- Prepare and manage payroll department budget
- Provide records and documentation for audits
- Recruit, interview, hire, and supervise payroll staff
- Partner with HR and other departments to align payroll with companywide policies
- Respond to management and employee inquiries regarding payroll policies
- Manage employee relocation payroll processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
- 3+ years of payroll management experience
- PeopleSoft Payroll experience (required)
- Advanced knowledge of payroll accounting principles and practices
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and compliance requirements
- Experience using data analytics for process improvements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and leadership
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
