What You’ll Do
- Research payment posting issues and determine the correct application to patient accounts
- Post payments accurately and timely to maintain clean account balances
- Communicate with banks, clients, attorneys, and insurance carriers to resolve posting problems
- Navigate insurance carrier websites to investigate payment status and details
- Identify roadblocks, follow through to resolution, and document outcomes clearly
- Manage multiple tasks while staying accurate in a deadline-driven environment
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Knowledge of payment processes from insurance carriers, patients, and HSAs
- Ability to work within deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, plus Adobe Acrobat
- Comfort navigating insurance carrier websites
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to change
- Strong follow-through and problem-solving skills, including presenting resolution options
- Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, pleasant phone manner when working with outside contacts
- Medical billing office and payment posting experience (preferred)
