Responsibilities
- Review and accurately post insurance and patient payments in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Resolve daily auto-posted ERA errors to prevent reconciliation issues
- Import and upload payment files from clearinghouses and payer sites, ensuring timely processing
- Manually post payments from bank lockbox deposits, facility deposits, and RTA checks
- Perform adjustments, billing corrections, auditing, and account analysis to maintain clean patient ledgers
- Support month-end reconciliation and closing processes, ensuring accurate posting of payments and adjustments
- Process remote bank deposits and manually post cash receipts with speed and accuracy
- Collaborate with Client Relations and billing staff to research discrepancies and maximize electronic payment adoption
- Provide AR support as needed, including claim follow-up, corrected/appealed claim submission, and billing problem resolution
Requirements
- Knowledge of payment posting processes (adjustments, write-offs, refunds)
- Familiarity with payer policies, medical billing, and insurance laws
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ten-key proficiency with speed and accuracy
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving ability with flexibility across different instructions and workflows
- Prior medical billing/AR experience preferred
Compensation
- $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
