Membership Specialist

McLaren Health Plan is our Michigan-based health plan dedicated to meeting the health care needs of each of our Michigan members. 

MDwise is our Indiana-based health plan, working with the State of Indiana and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to bring you the Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan health insurance programs. 

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Supervisor, the Membership Specialist administers, facilitates, problem solves, researches and communicates information related to the specialized benefit line assigned (i.e. FSA, COBRA, complex product lines).  Typically, the incumbent also performs professional and analytical work of moderate difficulty and is proficient in communicating information that can be moderately complex.

Medicare Experience is preferred. 

This position is fully remote.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• One (1) years’ experience in Membership and Enrollment maintenance, including state eligibility specifications and regulations

Preferred: 

• Associate degree in business, health care or related field. 
• Working knowledge of benefits or human resources functions
• Experience and knowledge of HMO, PPO, TPA, PHO and Managed Care functions.
