Position Summary
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) builds and maintains scientific and medical relationships with academic and community oncologists, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and internal teams. This role delivers scientific education, supports sales teams with clinical expertise, drives publications and presentations, and facilitates training. You’ll serve as a trusted scientific resource in oncology, biomarkers, and genomic testing, with a focus on NeoGenomics’ assay offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, KOLs, research leaders, and healthcare organizations
- Educate stakeholders via tumor boards, advisory boards, CME events, webinars, and site visits
- Partner with the clinical sales team to support client engagement and retention of NGS and MRD business
- Present and discuss relevant scientific data and publications
- Support internal teams through training and medical updates
- Attend major conferences and trade shows with a strong field presence
- Provide territory-based presentations and scientific support to healthcare providers
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, legal, and managed care teams
- Respond to physician report/assay inquiries via call center coverage when needed
Qualifications
- Advanced scientific or medical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, PA, GC, or hematopathology) – Required
- 5+ years MSL experience – Required
- Strong oncology, biomarker, and molecular testing knowledge
- Familiarity with NGS and MRD workflows
- Proven scientific communication and training skills
- Self-starter with strong organizational and presentation skills
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel and presenting data
- Willingness to travel up to 50% overnight
Compensation
- Pay Range: $157,312 – $271,364 (varies by location and experience)
