As a Medical Reimbursement Representative, you’ll play an essential role in delivering cost-effective solutions for patients by handling insurance claims, addressing denials, and ensuring proper payment.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Flexible start between 6:00 AM – 9:30 AM, ending by 6:00 PM (some locations require a 7:00 AM start)
- 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday
Responsibilities
- Follow up on patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
- Escalate payer trends to leadership and communicate with external departments as needed.
- Correct and resubmit claims, process refunds, and manage insurance denials or short-pays.
- Interpret payer contracts to confirm proper payment.
- Interface with insurance companies via phone and web portals to check claim status.
- Submit written correspondence to payers and patients as needed.
- Identify and prepare adjustments, write-offs, and account resolutions.
- Maintain quality and productivity standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- At least 1 year of experience in a professional environment.
- Beginner-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Home infusion or durable medical equipment (DME) experience.
- Background in medical billing, collections, accounts payable (AP), or accounts receivable (AR).
- Experience with healthcare reimbursement systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with urgency.
- Team player with strong customer service skills.
