POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility is to be the first point of contact on any insured liability claim and to provide an independent review, collect necessary information needed in order to report to the appropriate insurance carrier. A thorough understanding of multiple policy lines is required.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  1. Serve as point of contact for the Risk/Claims/Insurance Department.
  2. Manage service of process intake, including reviewing legal documents and other materials for completeness and accuracy.
  3. Confirm coverage on incoming claims and determine appropriate carrier for claims reporting.
  4. Field all incoming services to the appropriate Risk Manager.
  5. Process and manage deposition requests, regulatory board inquiries, and other legal correspondence related to risk, claims, and insurance.
  6. Collect all necessary information on all new matters and open matters in the internal matter management system.
  7. Open new matters and report to the appropriate insurance carrier.
  8. Assist Risk Managers in the “litigation hold” process.
  9. Assume point for multi-state reporting, when needed.
  10. Keep cases organized by establishing and organizing files, tracking deadlines, inputting information into electronic databases and claims management software.
  11. Maintain data integrity in the internal matter management system by identifying data gaps and completing the same.
  12. Close matters in the matter management system.
  13. Other duties as assigned

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in liability claims environment handling, some experience in medical malpractice and/or radiology preferred
  2. Possesses strong communication skills, both written and oral
  3. Possesses strong computer skills and data management skills
