Schedule & Pay
- Fully remote role, Monday–Friday (no weekends)
- Shift: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST
- Pay: $30/hour
Responsibilities
- Review physician and hospital documentation to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Ensure coding practices comply with federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines
- Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation and improve accuracy
- Validate and enter coded data into EHR and billing systems
- Perform coding audits and resolve discrepancies, denials, and rejections
- Stay current with coding updates, regulations, and payer requirements
- Provide education and feedback to providers on documentation best practices
- Support special projects, audits, and reporting as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required
- 2–5 years of profee medical coding experience (inpatient and physician coding preferred)
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems and medical terminology
- Experience coding across multiple specialties and complex cases preferred
- Proficiency with EHR systems and coding software
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards
