Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM PST or EST (includes 30-min unpaid lunch)
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate patient records and respond to patient communications across phone, video, email, portal messages, and text.
- Manage a high volume of prior authorizations (especially for weight loss medications).
- Complete pharmacy refills, lab result tracking, and medical record updates under provider instructions.
- Handle patient messages with empathy, professionalism, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all state/federal regulations.
- Collaborate with providers and cross-functional teams while working independently.
Requirements
- National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) from NHA, AMT, or AAMA (proof required).
- Experience with CoverMyMeds system and prior authorizations (electronic + phone).
- 3+ years as a Medical Assistant, including remote/telehealth experience preferred.
- 2+ years current Athenahealth EMR experience (5+ years total EMR experience).
- Strong organizational, documentation, and multitasking skills.
- Compassionate communicator able to de-escalate complex patient issues.
