Responsibilities
- Work Medicaid claims that are pending, on hold, denied, or incorrectly paid by Medicaid carriers.
- Review claims on hold, identify root causes, and resolve issues so claims can be released and paid.
- Analyze denials, determine why claims were denied, and complete appropriate follow-up or appeals.
- Provide Medicaid with any additional information or documentation needed to process claims correctly.
- Handle claim-related correspondence via mail and email, including any necessary refunds.
- Maintain accurate documentation and organize work to meet internal deadlines and Medicaid timely filing limits.
- Collaborate with internal teams and leadership as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Strong computer skills with basic knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
- Ability to manage a large volume of work while meeting tight deadlines.
- Prior experience working in a metric-driven or call-monitored environment is helpful.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, solution-focused tone.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing and updating claims.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned work independently.
