The Position.
As an Entry-Level Claims Adjuster, you’ll manage a caseload of simple, low-complexity claims while building your skills as an auto claims adjuster. We expect Entry-Level Claims Adjusters to learn quickly and be on a “fast-track” to grow within the business. Our goal is to leverage technology, data, and a team of highly talented people to build a claims experience that is recognized as number 1 in the industry.
You will have two weeks of role-specific training with Root and one week of self-study before completing a Texas adjuster exam (paid for by Root).
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver an industry-leading claim experience for all policyholders and claimants by promptly answering customer calls and filing claims
- Leverage internal tools to research and resolve customer requests thoroughly and accurately
- Gather necessary information from customers to initial claim
- Initiate, investigate, evaluate, negotiate and finalize claims resulting from simple auto accident losses
- Consistently make prompt and courteous contact with every party involved in a claim
- Use exemplary time management and organizational skills to manage pending claims and associates tasks proactively
- Coordinate the repair of damaged vehicles, and assists with rental reimbursement
- Provide input for continuous development of claims guidelines and best practices
- Recommend potential product developments and process improvements
- Interact and communicates effectively with customers, peers, vendors, and managers
- Engage in learning opportunities to build knowledge of personal lines claims, court decisions impacting the claims functions, current guidelines in claims function, and policy changes and modifications
What we’re looking for:
- Successful history of time management, multi-tasking, and customer-facing communication
- Ability to secure a Texas insurance license within 90 days of the start date
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite
- High sense of professionalism while remaining empathetic
- Curious in nature
- Willingness and ability to keep learning
- Great attention to detail with high organizational skills
- Ability to approach problems with an open mind
- Strong decision-making capabilities
- Ability to complete other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
