The IT Disaster Recovery Associate manager is responsible for communicating, maintaining and managing the governance of the enterprise IT Disaster Recovery program. This program includes IT DR and some IT Continuity for IT Services. The objective of this program is to support IT systems’ resilience and timely IT operations recovery, regardless of cause.
The primary goal of the program is, first and foremost, to prevent impacts and to rapidly restore operations and the availability of applications and production data. Secondly, this program is meant to support key recovery objectives, including IT infrastructure damage assessments and crisis communications. This role will ensure plans are implemented and maintained for all IT Services. This includes impact and communication plans in conjunction with Corp Communications policies.
This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with senior leaders in the definition, prioritization and support of key business recovery requirements and objectives. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strategic thinking, and effectively link the enterprise’s IT disaster recovery activities with business operations recovery and continuity requirements on a proactive basis.
What you will do…
- Plan, build, run and manage IT disaster recovery. This process will leverage the major incident management process and collaborate with the IT Operations Manager. The role will develop and mature the DR program, plans, tests (tabletop and exercises) existing and new.
- Participate in assessments of the impact of potential disruptions in IT services, including declaring a disaster and activating the IT DR plan.
- Manage the execution and completion of all IT DR test activities. The person who fills this position will be expected to collaborate with external business partners and key IT staff members to plan, direct, control and maintain effective DR plan testing.
- Be responsible as the key IT liaison, ensuring that IT technologies and processes support all key availability and recovery requirements — for example, crisis management and business recovery.
- Manage and enforce contracts, along with associated service-level agreements (SLAs), for external service providers, as required.
- Assume management responsibility for IT DR, ensuring adequacy of end-state production recovery environments, meeting all strategic planning deliverables, and coordinating activities of technology resources with key business units as required.
- Develop strategy and plan to track compliance of SaaS DR systems.
- Oversee the execution of IT DR plans when IT and/or major business operations disruptions occur.
- Oversee the design, execution and continuous improvement of IT DR plans through rigorous exercising.
- Interface with the IT project office and Enterprise Architecture and Application owners to ensure that new and ongoing projects sustain the level of recoverability consistent with business objectives.
- Manage the creation of program status communications to internal management (e.g., the audit committee, IT Leadership team) and external stakeholders regarding the status of the IT DR program, including annual reporting and audit report responses.
- Perform all departmental administrative activities, including staff meeting attendance, monthly status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, staff performance management, expense processing, documentation and other activities, as assigned, in a timely fashion.
- Rotate as key leader during Major Incidents. Primarily serve as Major Incident Commander or Impact Lead but not limited to these roles.
- Responsible for addressing the IT operations recovery needs of the company. The leader must be prepared to work across many different internal and external organizations, and with stakeholders in many different disciplines, including senior corporate leadership, the board of directors, line-of-business (LOB) managers, IT staff, HR, legal, audit
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of current IT DR planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used to perform risk analyses and business impact analyses
- Proven experience in the use and application of IT project and program management tools.

What you bring to the table…
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+years in experience in implementing and/or managing IT Disaster Recovery
- Policy, organization and architecture development
- General knowledge of data center and cloud infrastructure development and management
- General knowledge of backup, recovery, storage systems and IT security management
- Vendor management of external IT DR service providers, especially SaaS providers
- Overall program management and governance
- Experience in defining, implementing and enforcing risk-based standards, processes and procedures for responding to disruptions in business or IT operations
- Proven competency in executing large projects, on time and within budget, with business and IT personnel
- Experience leading and managing high-performance multidisciplinary workgroups or teams to meet goals across multiple projects
- Experience in creating and defining new operational models and procedures, and explaining complex problems or situations
- Experience in leading and managing groups of self-directed professionals
- Strong leadership and communication skills are essential criteria for this position.
- Proven ability to work under stressful conditions, such as business-related crises

Education Preferred: Associate Business Continuity Professional or higher from DRII or similar is a plus.
Working Conditions
Normal corporate office environment, Hybrid remote work week, Potential nights/weekends coverage for high priority incidents and in support of crisis/disaster, 5% travel as required by project assignment need.

Compensation and Benefits:
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $76,200-$109,600
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
