Acorns is building and scaling for the future and looking for an HR Generalist to advance the Human Resources (HR) function and support the growing organization. In this role you will be responsible for providing support across the HR team and directly interact with Acorns team members, ensuring a world-class team member experience. This position provides an opportunity to expand your HR toolkit by working across the employee lifecycle and all facets of HR.

This role has the option to be remote or based in our Irvine, CA or New York, NY offices.

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Meet with key stakeholders to become integrated into and understand the Acorns culture
  • Administer key daily benefits activities including processing enrollments and benefits changes in ADP
  • Review and approve team member demographic and positional updates in ADP
  • Process onboarding and offboarding actions

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Ensure ongoing data integrity across HR data systems
  • Assume responsibility for immigration process for sponsored team members
  • Develop and provide ad hoc HR reporting
  • Own standard, regular reporting including weekly manager report, monthly headcount and change report, interim demographics reporting, EEO reporting, CA Pay Data
  • Support team member relocations, ensuring appropriate documentation is completed and tax considerations addressed
  • Assume responsibility as primary HR point of contact for leaves of absence, including direct team member support and process administration
  • Assist HR operational hygiene projects including policy/practice documentation, and transition to electronic record keeping
  • Provide support to statutory benefits reporting
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable for invoice processing

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Own the Total Rewards mailbox, responding to team member questions regarding benefits and other HR items and directing questions to appropriate point of contact
  • Serve as administrator of HR Confluence page, collaborating across HR to make policy and process documentation available to team members
  • Contribute to key HR projects supporting 2023 goals aligned to operational hygiene, customer value and financial metrics
  • Conduct basic compensation reviews (e.g., relocations, retentions) and support midyear and year-end compensation processes
  • Submit compensation survey data, including job mapping of benchmark positions
  • Conduct annual salary structure review, including assessing location geographic differential assignments

What you will bring to Acorns:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business or a related field and 2 to 4 years of related experience
  • Experience working with ADP strongly preferred
  • Proficiency across Google and Microsoft suites
  • Ability to present information clearly and in a manner that is understandable to managers and employees and to answer questions

Compensation Information:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $60,000 and $82,300/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, equity grants, and discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
