Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Remote (with occasional on-site work in Washington, D.C. if based in the DMV area)
  • Non-exempt, hourly

What You’ll Do

  • Support recruitment: coordinate job postings and assist managers through hiring steps
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding, including I-9 forms, E-Verify, orientation, and exit processes
  • Assist with benefits administration and answer staff questions
  • Maintain HR files, documents, and HRIS data with confidentiality and accuracy
  • Provide day-to-day HR support, including employment verifications and policy questions
  • Help coordinate staff training, development, and compliance with labor laws
  • Assist with projects such as performance reviews, policy updates, and organizational reporting
  • Act as an ambassador of organizational culture, ensuring staff feel respected and supported

What You Need

  • Commitment to Food & Water Watch’s core values: justice, dignity, and equity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS or ability to learn quickly
  • Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism
  • Ability to effectively work remotely

Preferred but not required:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Two years of HR experience
  • Familiarity with payroll, multi-state HR, or union environments
  • Knowledge of Slack, Google Docs, and online collaboration tools

  • Salary: $50,000–$55,000 annually (based on experience and location)
