Schedule

  • Full-time, remote role
  • Standard business hours, Monday–Friday (Eastern/Central preferred)
  • Occasional flexibility for payer follow-up

Responsibilities

  • Review claims with outstanding balances and take ownership of collection efforts from insurers and patients
  • Utilize payer portals and systems to follow up on claim status and ensure timely payment
  • Review and interpret EOBs, remittance advice, and denial letters; identify reasons for denials and take corrective action
  • Analyze denial trends and recommend process improvements to reduce DSO and bad debt
  • Prepare and submit appeals, including gathering medical records, coding review, and supporting documentation
  • Communicate clearly with franchise partners, internal teams, and payer representatives to resolve issues
  • Document all activities and maintain accurate case notes in system of record
  • Investigate and verify pharmacy and medical third-party benefits
  • Educate patients on their financial obligations to ensure understanding of therapy costs before service begins
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to team training, policies, and efficiency initiatives

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of home infusion billing and/or collections experience (required)
  • At least 2 years direct experience in home infusion therapy (required)
  • High School Diploma; additional specialized pharmacy/medical billing or collections training preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payer processes across all payer types
  • Experience with EOB/RA review, appeals, and denial management
  • Excellent communication skills for working with patients, payers, and internal teams
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to track multiple claims and maintain complete documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy billing applications
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet productivity/collection goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-billing and post-payment investigative experience
  • Prior remote work experience
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to identify systemic gaps and implement lasting solutions
