Two Chicks With A Side Hustle

Employer: CommunicateHealth

Description

Are you looking for a company where you can make an impact on people’s lives, be a part of a supportive and inclusive culture, and challenge the status quo? CommunicateHealth is a growing health communication firm with a passion for human-centered design.

Our mission is to improve lives by designing health information that’s easy to understand and use. CommunicateHealth team members are committed to this mission –and to helping each other do big things every day. Together, we design inspiring solutions that transform the way people think about health.

As a health communication coordinator, you are a motivated self-starter with excellent organizational skills and a strong interest in health communication and health writing. Your perfectionist’s eye for detail applies whether you’re conducting a content inventory of a health website, coordinating schedules, or capturing meeting notes. You are comfortable holding all the pieces of a project and can follow-up on action items with colleagues to see tasks through to completion.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain content and images for health websites using a content management system.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of health communication campaigns and digital products with a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain and update documentation like content maintenance plans, style guides, and editorial calendars for health communication projects.
  • Develop shells for health communication and promotion plans.
  • Conduct content inventories, audits, and assessments of health materials based on established criteria, such as the Clear Communication Index.
  • Communicate with clients and external stakeholders —for example, requesting subject matter expert review on health materials
  • Maintain project schedules and timelines.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take clear and actionable notes for teams and clients.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as communication, public health, English, or the social sciences.
  • At least 1-2 years of professional or internship experience.
  • Experience with project coordination, including managing schedules and timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in website content maintenance including content management systems such as Drupal and basic HTML.
  • Familiarity with health literacy and plain language principles.

CommunicateHealth is committed to workplace diversity and providing equal employment opportunities for all qualified applicants and employees.
