The Role

The Global Sales Director, Americas is a team player who can work well both independently in this remote role and as a part of a larger dynamic team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies that will maximize sales and profitability focusing on youth and collegiate sports markets working as a liaison between customers and hotel-based colleagues.

 

Location

Candidate must be based in the United States

 

Responsibilities include:

•Develop and implement sales strategies that drive revenue growth for the company’s youth and collegiate sports market accounts in the hospitality industry

•Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers with housing companies sourcing youth and collegiate sporting events

•Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the youth and collegiate sports markets

•Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure successful execution of sales strategies

•Serve as a key liaison between the corporate office and local hotel leaders.

•Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and market intelligence to inform sales strategies and tactics

•Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements

•Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management

•Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by working closely with hotel teams to deliver exceptional service to association clients

•Monitor and manage the sales pipeline, forecast sales results, and report on sales performance to senior management

•Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows

Qualifications

Experience Required: 

•Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the hotel industry, preferably with a focus on youth and collegiate sports market

•Strong understanding of the youth and collegiate sports markets.

•Proven track record in sales, consistently exceeding targets and increasing revenue within the hospitality industry, preferably with a specific focus on the youth and collegiate sports market

•Strong knowledge of contract processes

•Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

 

Experience Preferred:

•4-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience

•Solid written, verbal, and presentation skills

•Excellent organizational skills

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

•Experience in Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)

•Proficient in Lanyon, CVENT & Envision (or similar CRM tool)

•Experience with Cognos, Tableau, Reserve, and Oracle

 

Additional Requirements:

•Must be able to work remotely and independently

•Must be able to work in a fast-paced and very demanding market including off-peak hours and days as required by the youth and collegiate sports market

•Must have the ability to get creative with customer engagement opportunities

•Must be very strategic when working with accounts

•Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with clients and collaborate with hotel teams.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
