Schedule

  • Position type: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: 100% remote (U.S.-based)
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, standard business hours on an Eastern Time schedule
  • Equipment: Company equipment provided; personal phone required for outbound calls to insurance carriers

Responsibilities

  • Work insurance claims after submission to carriers, focusing on:
    • Claims rejected by the clearinghouse
    • Claims pending, on hold, denied, or incorrectly paid
  • Investigate and resolve issues causing claims to remain on hold or be denied.
  • Obtain and review Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) to verify correct payment.
  • Complete credentialing with insurance companies to help ensure proper payment flow.
  • Review patient accounts with multiple transports to confirm accurate coordination of benefits (COB).
  • Communicate by phone, email, and mail with carriers and internal teams to move claims toward resolution.
  • Organize and prioritize a high volume of work while meeting tight deadlines and performance expectations.
  • Perform additional billing and administrative duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, stay organized, and manage large workloads.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where performance metrics and call quality are monitored.
  • Professional phone presence with the ability to stay calm and courteous while resolving issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain solutions clearly.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and updating claims.
  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable for completing assigned work.
