Schedule
- 6-month contract (1099, independent contractor)
- Full-time, remote work from home
- Standard business hours with flexibility as needed
What You’ll Do
- Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using AthenaHealth, payer portals, and other systems
- Secure and track pre-authorizations to avoid claim denials
- Maintain accurate eligibility documentation and ensure billing compliance
- Identify primary/secondary insurance and coordinate benefits
- Notify patients of discrepancies in coverage and provide clear guidance
- Collaborate with billing and operations teams to resolve eligibility issues and maintain insurance-provider mapping databases
- Conduct follow-up on pending verifications to prevent delays
What You Need
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or eligibility-related roles
- Proficiency with AthenaHealth or similar EHRs, plus payer portals
- Experience with multi-state commercial insurance plans in a telehealth setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to resolve and prevent eligibility and billing issues
- High attention to detail and accuracy under fast-paced conditions
