Schedule

  • 6-month contract (1099, independent contractor)
  • Full-time, remote work from home
  • Standard business hours with flexibility as needed

What You’ll Do

  • Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using AthenaHealth, payer portals, and other systems
  • Secure and track pre-authorizations to avoid claim denials
  • Maintain accurate eligibility documentation and ensure billing compliance
  • Identify primary/secondary insurance and coordinate benefits
  • Notify patients of discrepancies in coverage and provide clear guidance
  • Collaborate with billing and operations teams to resolve eligibility issues and maintain insurance-provider mapping databases
  • Conduct follow-up on pending verifications to prevent delays

What You Need

  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or eligibility-related roles
  • Proficiency with AthenaHealth or similar EHRs, plus payer portals
  • Experience with multi-state commercial insurance plans in a telehealth setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to resolve and prevent eligibility and billing issues
  • High attention to detail and accuracy under fast-paced conditions
