About the Role
You’ll supervise the daily dispatch operations of a remote, centralized dispatch/routing team for the commercial and residential lines of business in support of the Upper Midwest market area. You’ll lead a team of approximately 15 dispatcher/routers and report into the Commercial/Residential Dispatch Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Oversees daily activities of the dispatch department, ensuring productivity and quality goals are met.
- Coordinates resolution of service orders and customer service issues.
- Manages live dispatch as well as GPS and MAS data input.
- Supervises processing of all paperwork, including billing backlog.
- Communicates and enforces company policies and procedures and develops and implements safety briefings.
- Coordinates container tracking, container placement, and driver safety.
- Compiles and analyzes maintenance reports.
- Coordinates schedules and monitors performance of staff, and arranges for training as needed.
- Oversees personnel needs of the department including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:
- Direct supervision of approximately 15 full-time dispatchers/routers
What Does it Take to be a Dispatch Supervisor?
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. (accredited).
- Experience: Four (4) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirements).
- Dispatching, driver management, and general supervisory skills required.
The expected salary pay range for this position is $64,000 – $79,000. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
