As we experience rapid growth and expand our reach, we are looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Revenue to build and lead a world-class sales organization.

Position Overview:

As the Director of Revenue, you will be pivotal in shaping the future of our SaaS offerings. You will lead our Sales and Customer Success functions, focusing on delivering solutions that enhance talent management practices for our target market. This role provides a unique opportunity to build and scale a high-performing sales organization in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment. You will need a strong sales background, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of SaaS solutions. Experience with talent management software and/or within the HR tech sector is preferred.

You will be a part of the senior leadership team reporting directly to the CEO. This is a very unique opportunity where you will get to BUILD, despite viaPeople being a company with 20+ years of experience leading the industry with their tech.

This is a role where you will act first as a player-coach (actively functioning as a sales rep), then grow the team until you can settle into a coaching role – there are TONS of growth opportunities here, including a path to becoming a VP of Sales. The vision for this person is to grow the sales team into two separate groups that will report to this role: sales/hunting (new logos) and customer success/farming (expansion).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Hire additional resources to build out both the Sales (new logo) and Customer Success (nurture/expand) functions.
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the Sales and Customer Success team members, ensuring alignment with company goals and the specific needs of clients in improving their talent management practices.
      1. There is currently one Sales rep and one Customer Success rep that will report directly to you.
    • Cultivate a high-performance culture with a focus on delivering exceptional service and tailored solutions that drive client success.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge related to talent management within the financial services sector.
  2. Strategy Development and Execution:
    • Create and execute strategic plans to drive revenue growth and customer retention by focusing on enhancing talent management practices.
    • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of account management and customer success efforts in relation to talent management improvements.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts.
  3. Customer Engagement and Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in financial services institutions to understand their talent management needs and business objectives.
    • Oversee the delivery of customized solutions that effectively address the unique talent management challenges faced by clients.
    • Address and resolve any escalated issues or concerns from clients regarding talent management solutions in a timely and effective manner.
  4. Sales and Revenue Growth:
    • Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth by demonstrating the value of our talent management solutions.
    • Stay informed about market trends and the competitive landscape in the financial services industry to refine sales strategies and tactics.
    • Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotions, and other initiatives to boost sales performance for talent management solutions.
  5. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership:
    • Partner with Product, Marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of sales and customer success efforts focused on talent management improvements.
    • Provide feedback and insights to the product team to drive enhancements based on client feedback and evolving needs related to talent management.
  6. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate and present regular reports on sales performance, customer success metrics, and other relevant data to senior management.
    • Analyze trends, track performance, and adjust strategies as needed to meet business objectives and address client needs in talent management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales within a SaaS company, with at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing sales and/or customer success
    • Bonus: Experience working with a SaaS company that specializes in talent management or HR tech.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing high-performing teams in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, talent management solutions, and the financial services industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • $200-$225k OTE ($125k – $150k base, $50k – $75k variable)
