About the role: The Desktop Technical Lead role is responsible for designing and implementing robust and scalable solutions to establish and maintain endpoint hardware and software standards across all corporate and clinical end user devices. The Desktop Technical Lead is also responsible for endpoint solutions and products including hardware standards for desktops, laptops, and tablets. This also includes peripherals, operating systems, and core builds. The Technical Lead functions as a mentor to the less senior engineers on the Desktop team. The role is responsible for leading the less senior team members in the technical aspects of their strategic and operational activities. The Desktop Technical Lead is cross-functional across the organization, and is critical to the success of core initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Accountable for endpoint management, software packaging/deployment, patching, and the lifecycle of the tools used to administer those endpoints.
- Leads the identification and implementation of innovative approaches to administrative tasks with a focus on automation, compliance, and security.
- Ensures appropriate methodologies for operating system depolyment platforms are configured and maintained for hardware imaging.
- Orchestrates the planning of upgrades, changes, or implementation of endpoint administration systems, while following established change control processes.
- Deep understanding of enterprise technologies such as security, networking, and infrastructure, with the ability to resolve interoperability problems on a large scale.
- Works with Premise vendors to identify and support end user products and solutions.
- Leads high-level technical projects and project management meetings. Participates in Enterprise projects in support of cross-functional initiatives.
- Leads the Desktop team in evaluating new end user solutions. Recommends complex system(s) to management based on results of assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/lifecycle issues.
- Thoroughly documents requirements for acceptance and formal approval of builds through engineering and security activities.
- Creates sophisticated architectual System Design Documents when required.
- Works closely with management to help identify, evaluate, and recommed new products, technologies, roadmaps and strategies.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of experience in endpoint administration in an enterprise environment.
- Minimum of 8+ years IT experience in providing software and hardware break/fix support.
- Must have experience working with wireless networks, local area networks, SQL, scripting and network troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Experience:
- An advanced understanding of batch and PowerShell scripting.
- A deep knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager. A working knowledge of Jamf, PrinterLogic, and other enterprise-level systems management tools is required.
- Must have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and end-user platform systems in an enterprise environment.
- Existing knowledge of Intune, co-management and Autopilot is necessary.
- An enterprise-level of understanding of how different systems and services such as networking, security, infrastructure and software integrate and affect the IT environment as a whole.
- A working knowledge of endpoint related security technologies such as Conditional Access and Data Loss Prevention.
- An understanding of cloud systems and their role in the administration of endpoints.

While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $90,000 – $115,000.
