Responsibilities
- Learn and maintain knowledge of company products and services
- Answer inbound calls and emails, process orders, and route inquiries appropriately
- Educate patients on products, services, and financial responsibilities when applicable
- Review and process documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines
- Complete insurance verification and obtain pre-authorizations when required
- Input and update patient information in EMR systems, ensuring accuracy of authorizations and expiration dates
- Communicate with insurance carriers and request database updates as needed
- Provide updates to patients when documentation is incomplete or additional steps are required
- Meet quality assurance standards and performance metrics
- Resolve customer complaints with compassion and professionalism
- Collaborate with management on trends and process improvements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in healthcare administration, financial services, insurance customer service, claims, billing, or call center work (Senior level requires 2 years and 1 year in an exact job match)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technologies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health insurance preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
