Overview
Ferrellgas has an open Corporate Counsel position.The Corporate Counsel is a mid-level attorney who assists with the legal affairs for Ferrellgas and its various business lines.The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for litigation matters, contract drafting and negotiation, and general corporate matters. This position requires a Juris Doctorate degree with 4+ years of applicable law experience.

Responsibilities
- Provides in-house legal counsel and risk assessment across the company’s lines of business.
- Manges outside counsel through resolution of litigation including strategy development
- Respond to requests for information and subpoenas from regulators and others
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of general commercial contracts.
- Develop and present training materials to various departments
- Researches and anticipates legal issues that could impact the company.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
- 4+ years’ applicable law experience.
- Licensed to practice law.
- A thorough understanding of litigation matters including managing discovery, litigation holds and settlement process, commercial contracts, and a broad range of experience in other legal areas.
- Experience managing outside counsel and exercising strong judgment for disputes not being resolved in-house
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with sound business judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed, flexible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction while keeping business partners informed

- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
