Schedule
- Remote, contract position
- Writers needed for the following shifts (Arizona Time):
- Monday–Friday: 4:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Saturday: after 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 4:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Initial probationary period: 3–8 weeks depending on volume
Responsibilities
- Write one or more commentary articles per assigned shift (minimum 340 words, 17 paragraphs)
- Conduct research and provide factually grounded analysis with a strong conservative and/or Christian voice
- Use source material provided by editorial staff while adding research and original perspective
- Submit content in line with editorial standards and deadlines
- Incorporate editorial feedback to refine style and voice
Requirements
- Strong writing, grammar, and communication skills
- Keen understanding of U.S. politics, culture, and current events
- Ability to write quickly and thoughtfully under deadlines
- Availability to write on weekends
- Passion for commentary with a distinct conservative and/or Christian perspective
- Familiarity with WordPress, AP Style, or prior news/media experience preferred
Compensation
- $15–$20 per article (based on experience and skill)
- Articles published under your byline in The Western Journal

- Remote applicants located in California are not eligible
