Job Description
Rootworks is seeking a creative and prolific writer to support content development company wide. As a member of the Creative Services team, you will interact with staff and key stakeholders across Rootworks business units and occasionally with Rootworks members (clients) to create engaging, SEO-driven and on-brand content that spans collateral types.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop content from conception to finished product across collateral types and across company business units. Collateral includes (but is not limited to) eBooks, sales sheets, email campaigns, social posts, SEO-driven blog articles, long-form and short-form by-lined articles, video scripts, website copy, conference/trade show materials, Rootworks products (e.g., content package, client magazines), and more.
- Edit and QA materials created by other members of the writing team.
- Create editorial calendars (including conducting organic research and aggregating feedback from key staff/stakeholders) to support recurring content projects and products (e.g., content package, client magazines).
- Apply strong project management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Apply brand standards and writing guidelines to content as well as serve as a brand steward to ensure brand consistency across materials.
- Upload content into Rootworks member platform (CMS area).
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of professional B2B marketing content development experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organization, creative problem solving and project management skills.
- Ability to interact with multiple staff members in virtual meeting formats such as Zoom and MS Teams.
- Ability to work independently and meet expectations and deadlines.
- Writing samples and test project required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient with Office 365, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working in Google Suite, Slack and Zoom.
While not required for the work scope, any experience in the tax and accounting profession will warrant special consideration.
