Schedule
- Remote freelance/1099 consulting role
- 3-month contract with possible extension
Compensation
- Project-based/hourly; aligned with experience
Responsibilities
- Research informational topics that appeal to school-aged readers
- Source and adapt passages for online assessments and activities
- Write sentences, paragraphs, and longer passages across PK–12 ELA levels
- Develop questions, answers, and explanations following provided guidelines
- Ensure consistency with The Chicago Manual of Style and internal style guides
- Accept and apply editorial feedback promptly
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, or related field
- Experience developing ELA content aligned with educational objectives (K–12)
- Experience writing for large-scale summative, interim, or formative assessments (preferred)
- Exceptional writing skills with strong grammar and usage knowledge
- Strong research, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently with attention to detail
